This first wave of music is from Mali, West Africa and represents our homage to an ancient musical well. The instruments heard on this recording are: The Djembe: An hour glass shaped drum played with two hands; Donun Ba, The lowest in pitch of the three double-headed bass drums, played with a stick; Kenkeni, the highest in pitch of the three bass drums, played with a stick; Jeli Dunun, Cassonke People's Dunun.
